I recently interviewed Lasheeda Perry, the Executive Pastry Chef at Bar Margot  and Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. She was one of the many chefs that were featured at this year’s Peachfest. Also a Season 2 Finalist in Food Network’s Best Baker in America. Lasheeda has also won Season 2 of Food Network’s Sweet Genius. At a preview dinner at Bar Margot a couple of months ago, I was a big fan of her famous strawberry cake, also known as the pink velvet. Her famous cake is available at Bar Margot for dessert.

This last weekend, she featured her famous peaches and cream Pop Tarts at this year’s Peachfest. Yep, that’s right. If you haven’t tried this amazing treat yet, then you are missing out big-time. Pop Tarts was my favorite go-to pastry treat for breakfast when I was a kid. It’s good, both cold or warm.

These amazing Pop Tarts were made with fresh dough that consists of flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter. For the filling, she used peach chutney and cream cheese. After baking, the tart is drizzled with peach liqueur glaze and then topped with unicorn croquant. In conclusion, I was blown away by Chef Perry’s creativity. She has a very different baking style in which she tries to avoid the use of food coloring and instead opts for flavors such as strawberry, ube, and green tea.
