An all-star line-up of chefs and artisans from Atlanta grilled heritage-breed protein al fresco at Guardian Works on Sunday, March 26. The ultimate goal of the event is to educate and offer an opportunity for guests to enjoy local quality food from local farmers.
Robert Butts (Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours), a participating chef, prepared Smoke Xatar lamb belly with spring onions, feta Johnny cakes, collard kale slaw, and spiced citrus coulis. Nicky Leahy (Nick’s Westside), was last year’s Heritage Hero and prepared a smoked, grilled pork dish with scallops, black garlic, and a steamed potato. Karl Gorline (The Woodall), prepared a unique flavor. Yogurt Brined BBQ Chicken with Hawaij and Turnip Potato salad.
After enjoying each dish, and several beverages, the attendees vote for the “Best Bite of the Day”. The Heritage Hero 2023 was crowned at the end of the feast to Robert Butts, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours.
