In the heart of Midtown Atlanta, Varuni Napoli stands as a beacon of authentic Neapolitan culinary excellence. Founded by veteran maestro pizzaiolo Luca Varuni, this celebrated pizzeria recently commemorated its 10-year anniversary at its flagship location, marking a decade of delighting patrons with the true taste of Naples.

Luca Varuni’s journey to culinary mastery began in his native Naples, Italy, where he honed his craft from a young age, learning the secrets of traditional Neapolitan cuisine. Under the tutelage of renowned maestro pizzaiolo Enzo Coccia of La Notizia, Varuni’s passion for pizza blossomed, leading him to bring his expertise to the United States. In 2014, Varuni Napoli opened its doors in Midtown Atlanta, followed by a second location in Krog Street Market in 2017.

Over the years, Chef Luca and Varuni Napoli have garnered widespread acclaim, earning recognition from esteemed publications and media outlets such as CNN, Food Network, and “Good Morning America.” Varuni Napoli’s success is a testament to Chef Luca’s dedication to preserving the authenticity of Neapolitan cuisine while infusing it with his own creative flair.

The inspiration behind Varuni Napoli’s inception stemmed from Chef Luca’s desire to share his heritage with the vibrant city of Atlanta. Upon visiting the city nearly 15 years ago, Chef Luca noticed a dearth of pizzerias offering traditional Neapolitan pies and sought to fill that gap. Drawing from his upbringing in Naples and his extensive culinary training, Chef Luca embarked on a mission to bring the flavors of his homeland to Atlanta.

At the heart of Varuni Napoli’s menu lies a celebration of Neapolitan tradition and Chef Luca’s own culinary innovations. From classic Margherita pizzas to signature creations like the “Amore Mio” dedicated to his wife, each dish reflects Chef Luca’s passion for quality ingredients and time-honored recipes. Imported Italian staples such as D.O.P. San Marzano tomatoes and locally sourced produce ensure an authentic dining experience that transports diners to the streets of Naples.

Varuni Napoli’s accolades over the past decade speak volumes about its impact on Atlanta’s culinary scene. From being named one of the city’s best pizza restaurants by USA Today’s 10Best to earning recognition from Food Network and Atlanta Magazine, Varuni Napoli has solidified its status as a beloved institution.
