Hip-hop star Big Boi will perform as the headline act for next month’s Tee Up ATL party in Atlanta. The event will help to celebrate the top 30 professional golfers from the PGA Tour as they compete for the FedExCup and Tour Championship.
The big Tee Up ATL event is heading into its fourth year. It will take place on Monday, September 17th at the College Football Hall of Fame between 7 and 10 p.m. local time. Atlanta Hawks and Falcons announcer Ryan Cameron will serve as the emcee for the party. Other Atlanta sports celebrities are expected to be a part of the festivities as they celebrate the PGA Tour players’ success this season.
Rapper Big Boi is an Atlanta native who rose to success in the music industry alongside fellow hip-hop artist Andre “3000” Benjamin. The duo formed the group Outkast and went on to achieve a Grammy together for their album, “Speakerboxx/The Love Below.” Since then, the two artists have ventured off on their own solo careers. Big Boi has released four solo albums including 2017’s “Boomiverse” which went as high as No. 28 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart. His debut album, 2010’s “Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty” achieved a No. 3 spot on the charts.
Big Boi will follow in the footsteps of fellow Atlanta hip-hop star Ludacris. The actor/rapper was the headline act for last year’s edition of the event, per Biz Journals.
The admission for Tee Up ATL is $15 a person with proceeds going to East Lake Foundation as well as the Purpose Built Communities. For individuals interested in purchasing tickets, the altourchamp.com website currently has them available for the Sept. 17 event.
