“USA Basketball Announces 2024 3×3 Women’s National Team Training Camp

USA Basketball has officially announced the launch of the highly anticipated 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team training camp in Colorado Springs. With a carefully curated roster of seventeen athletes handpicked by the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team Committee, this training camp promises to be a pivotal moment in the journey towards selecting the nation’s top talent for international competition.

Among the selected athletes are household names such as Azana Baines, Cameron Brink, and Allisha Gray, each bringing a wealth of experience from their time in USA Basketball, professional leagues, and collegiate play. Notably, the camp will feature 2020 Olympic 3×3 gold medalist Allisha Gray, alongside all four members of the gold-medal-winning 2023 FIBA 3×3 Women’s World Cup Team: Cameron Brink, Cierra Burdick, Linnae Harper, and Hailey Van Lith.

Under the seasoned leadership of head coach Jennifer Rizzotti and assistant coach Tammi Reiss, the training camp, slated for April 17-20 in Springfield, Massachusetts, will serve as the ultimate testing ground for these elite athletes. Their performances will be closely scrutinized as they vie for coveted spots on the 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team, set to represent the nation at the forthcoming Paris Olympics, as well as other prestigious events including the 2024 USA 3×3 U23 Women’s National Team and the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series.

In a historic move, USA Basketball will host the inaugural event of the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series on April 23-24 at the iconic Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield. This landmark occasion marks the first time a 3×3 Women’s Series event will be held on American soil since its inception in 2019, underscoring the growing prominence of the sport in the United States.

Distinguished from traditional 5-on-5 basketball, the fast-paced action of 3×3 unfolds on a half-court with a condensed 10-minute game clock and a brisk 12-second shot clock. With continuous play and strategic ball movement, teams must navigate the unique dynamics of the game, where every possession counts. Victory hinges on the first team to reach 21 points, achieved through a combination of 1-point field goals and 2-pointers beyond the arc, or by maintaining a lead as time expires.

As the countdown begins to these landmark events, anticipation and excitement are palpable within the basketball community. With aspirations set high and dreams within reach, these athletes are primed to showcase their skills and etch their names into the annals of basketball history.
