SIIMBA SELASSIIE Debuts New Music Video

Brooklyn based and New York-born, Ethiopian-American rapper, SIIMBA SELASSIIE, formerly known as SIIMBA LIIVES LONG, is back. Following his acclaimed single “Patiently” SIIMBA returns, debuting his new video for his single “BES’MAM”. SIIMBA may have dabbled in “the land of the lost,” but he certainly seems to be foundand stronger than ever.

SIIMBA first arrived on the scene with his debut music video, “Cocaine Biimbie,” a track from SIIMBA’S 2017 project, “Zemenay’s Gemiinii.” NPR described SIIMBA as “sportive yet serious, playing equal parts esoteric and quizzical”

The video for “BES’MAM” is directed by Nick Von Gremp who also directed SIIMBA’s acclaimed video “HOOKED” and “BAD FOR THE SOUL.” “BES’MAM” is shot in one take similar to “BAD FOR THE SOUL” ft KAMAU among other collaborators.

Following in his own footsteps, the video for “BES’MAM” features SIIMBA’s friends and collaborators, KAMAU, Topaz Jones and Haile Supreme. allowing them to create the scene and set the tone alongside his unique physical stylings, creating room for SIIMBA to shine without the distractions of unnecessary props.

SIIMBA SELASSIIE gives us his almost-trademarked, minimalistic, yet profound beat, allowing his lyrics to take front and center. His nuanced, mellow, sultry timbre delivers his lyrics in a way that are effortless to absorb and impossible to ignore.
