Coconuts Fort Lauderdale

I have been to Coconuts a handful of times for meetings and pleasure. The fresh seafood at this location is worth the price of admission. This location is off Seabreeze Dr. and within walking distance to Ft. Lauderdale beach. Parking is free, but it is limited and valet only.

The Apps.

Conch Fritters 8.00-consists of 6 large pieces of fried conch with a creamy dipping papaya sauce.
Smoked Fish Dip 11.00-generous portion of dip consisting of smoked Mahi Mahi, celery, mayo, and peppers served with crackers or tortilla chips.

The Entrees.

Lobster Roll 17.00-10.00 (happy hour) is expensive for a lobster roll. Boston is half the price, but very good and moist.
Fish Tacos 14.00-consists of fresh Mahi Mahi fish slaw and pico de gio. Awesome!!!
Mahi Sandwich 15.00-generous portion of Mahi filet grilled. Really good!!!

The Sides.

Mac and Cheese – not good and very disappointing.
Fries- ok; not really constant. Had one order come in burned.
Deviled eggs- Solid; really good and fresh.

The Service.

The restaurant is slow during the weekdays during lunch. However, Fridays and weekends are always busy. For example, wait times can exceed 30 mins. Happy Hour is also available on weekends offering their popular sides 25% off the regular menu price. In addition, brunch is offered during Sunday, and it has an outdoor seating with a view of new river if the beach view not available, which this seating is limited. Indoor and a long fully-stocked bar seating is also available.

The Verdict.

Over all Coconuts is a great restaurant for fresh seafood, and from what I heard from others, it has an excellent brunch and a view of the river.
