Brunch is not only a meal, it is also an event that many look forward to on Sunday’s in Atlanta—myself included. One place that is a must to add to your list of brunch spot’s is Dantanna’s, a restaurant that’s been in the business for 15 years and offers two convenient Atlanta-area locations. Brunch is served at the Buckhead location, which is conveniently located near the Lenox Square Mall and Westin Hotel. The ambiance inside of Dantanna’s is sophisticated, yet relaxed.
Dantanna’s Executive Chef Tim Williams and his team pride themselves on serving up only the finest, freshest ingredients, so I had high expectations when entering the restaurant. I have to say that the food did disappoint.
Once seated, I had a tough time choosing between the plethora of menu options. I finally settled on the three-egg omelet with sautéed onions, spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms, in addition to the crab cakes and eggs—a distinctive entree made from lump crab meat seasoned with Old Bay and lemon, which is then flash fried and topped with poached eggs and hollandaise.
Brunch wouldn’t be complete without a mimosa, and Dantanna’s offers a unique twist on this classic drink with their Mimosa flight, which includes six freshly-prepared flavors including raspberry, blackberry, kiwi, white peach, and prickly pear. Keep in mind the mimosa flight is not on the menu. You will have to ask for it.
Final Verdict
Dantanna’s is a wonderful brunch spot and I would absolutely return. The entire experience, from start to finish, was enjoyable and the meal was one to remember. I look forward to trying the Downtown location next, where they offer outdoor patio seating ideal for taking in those beautiful Atlanta nights.
