Recently, I had the opportunity to go to Bar Margot and experience some of their best meals that they have launched for the spring season. Bar Margot is located in Four Seasons in the center of Atlanta. The restaurant style bar serves continental dishes with a mix of injections of American, Asian and European cuisines.
I started off with Pan Seared Scallops for starters, and it was as good as it sounds. The starter comprised of an endive citrus salad covered with caramelized endive puree and topped with delicious toasted pecans. I was really in for a surprise as it had an infusion of flavors at once.
I then decided to try out the Lamb Tartare which had a succulent mix of green apples, braised lacinato kale and house made chips. It was generously marinated with ras elhanout which brought a Mediterranean touch to the dish.
At this point, the choices were hard, they all sounded so good. It was either the Cajun BBQ shrimp or the Steamed mussels. But me being me, I decided to try out both! The shrimp was cooked to perfection and served with French bread and drizzled with citrus garlic sauce. As for the mussels, they were also cooked perfectly and just the way I like them and were served with Kalamata olives, heirloom tomatoes and toasted focaccia. I was delighted by both of the sea food options as sometimes restaurants that don’t specialize in sea food are not able to get them right, but it was fantastic over here!
Now for my favorite part, the deserts I had the Pink Velvet which is a light strawberry cake covered with fresh cream cheese frosting and injected with rhubarb jam. It was one of my most enjoyable bites and I quickly had it demolished!
By this point, I was full, but you can’t go wrong with a drink or TWO!
I decided to try out the Hotel Resident. In which consisted of martell cognac, cocchi Americana and dry curacao black tea. A very delicate mixture which went down well after the meal.
So now for best till last, Guilty Pleasure was my choice of cocktail, and my it was a guilty pleasure! It was made with los altos tequila mixed with chai, lime and hibiscus grenadine. A delicious mix that was well needed after a long day.
Overall, my experience with Bar Margot was both pleasant and enjoyable. I really recommend this place for both drinks and full on meals!
