To kick off the Summer STK, Atlanta had a mixology class during happy hour last week. The four-year-old modern steak house chain teamed up with Ketel One to showcase their popular drink, the Cucumber Stiletto.
I arrived early and sampled their cocktail, Best Practices. It’s featured on their office hours’ specials for 7 dollars. It comprised Ketel One vodka, ginger spice syrup, lemon juice, egg white, and orange zest. This was the second time I had a drink with egg white. Impressed how the smooth the ginger tasted.
Our tables were already set up with the drinks ready to be mixed. To make one Cucumber Stiletto, we mix mint and cucumber with lime juice and simply syrup, add citron vodka and St. Germain. Shake and strain into martini glass. Garnish with slice of cucumber. The drink was light and refreshing. It is definitely a summer drink.
Besides the cocktail, we sampled a few of STK’s light bites.
– My favorites are the Lil’ BRGs made with Wagyu beef. Topped with special sauce on a sesame seed bun. The bite size sandwich was served medium. It was probably the best mini burgers I have ever had.
-The Nueskes Smoked Bacon was very addicting. It was almost like pork belly, consisting of celery leaf and pickled onions.
-Steak Skewers. I don’t believe it’s on the menu. But it was good. Well-seasoned and it wasn’t dry.
-For dessert, Blueberry Panna Cotta is unique. This Italian dessert is not seen in menus in Atlanta. They used a different approach in making it. It looks like yogurt. They used Whipped mascarpone, blueberry sorbet, and crumble biscotti.
In conclusion, the event was a success. I was very impressed with their drinks and food offerings. Service was very attentive. And the Mixology class was very informative. The Cucumber Stiletto was great and easy to make.
