Events to look for at 2018 Atlanta Food and Wine Festival

It is that time of the year again the 2018 Atlanta Food and Wine Festival, which definitely the best festival in Atlanta. This year, the hosts and organizers of the festival are making sure attendees get to “Know The South” and all its amazing epicurean heritage. Guests from everywhere are expected to come have a taste of everything southern- from music to the live shows, history, tour trips and of course, the elegant dishes, brews and drinks.
Several big events have been lined up for the festival, thus participants can expect nothing less than an exciting outing, with a true display of the richness of the south.
At the festival, many of the traditional aspects of our culture, and the talents that are found prevailing amongst us, would be seen by our guests; all these in a bid to getting people to know the south, and its epicurean tendencies.

Kick off- Destination Delicious

Thursday, May 31st, at 7:30pm

This year’s AFWF kicks off on a grand style; not just because attendees have a chance at having some gorgeous sightseeing trip, but because they’ll also be welcomed to take part in different new cuisines, ingenious food recipes, rich music, amongst other features that are characteristic of the south. The opening night event is dedicated to providing attendees with an array of delicious foods, and wine all of which have an input of the southern creativity. Destination Delicious will provide all the atmosphere and features that make you have a feeling that you’ve truly come south.

Tasting Tents

Friday, June 1; 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Saturday, June 2; 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Sunday, June 3; 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

The Tasting Tent events are fashioned to make attendees have the best time of their stay in Atlanta, while exploring the interesting parts of what has culminated into the way the foods are prepared. This part of the festival is geared towards allowing guests explore the present and past of the region, in terms of the food and drinks. It also incorporates some aspects of history which shows how much influence the outside communities have shaped our own food, and ways of life. In order to make participants relish this part of the festival well, and to enable them have a detailed knowledge of the south, the Tasting Tent events have been scheduled to hold at different times, all through the weekend from Friday to Sunday.
Once you have the Tasting Tent tickets, you’re allowed to partake of all the samples that are provided.

The Ingredients of Taste Presented by ADAC

Saturday, June 2 at 7:00 pm

This part of the festival is when you need to activate all of your taste buds. Guests at this year’s festival would have an exquisite entry to partake of various dishes prepared and served by various chefs at different kitchens. All of the different kitchens would carry their own peculiar ingredients and styles, while attendees can go round the spaces in a reception style event.

 

 

Beat the heat presented by the local palate- VIP: Early Access

Saturday, June 2 at 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm

This event slated for the evening would feature a lot of chicken recipes prepared in the way that is peculiar to the south- from the southern fried to the Nashville hot. It would go in the manner of the late night restaurant culture that allows you merry till you’ve got your fill of it.
Guests will be treated to a taste of traditional and non-traditional setting of food, and varieties of wines and cocktails, in an inviting atmosphere.
The VIP pass would grant 30 minutes early access.

Brew-zy Brunch: Southern staple showdown

 

Sunday, June 3; 11:30- 1:00 pm

The finales of the AFWF would have brunch prepared in the southern style- with the popular breakfast dishes, and all the combinations of brews common to the south.There would be an exhibit having two renditions, each of which would combine different brunch classics such as biscuits and gravy, or shrimp & grits etc.
One important feature of this festival, are the different brew that would accompany all of the renditions, and the fact that we want you to really know the south.
