The 5Church experience is one you should not miss as it is capable of satisfying your every whim. If you are one who enjoys aesthetics as well as food, then this is the place to go. 5Church Atlanta opened in June 2016 . It is located on 14th Street, Midtown, 1197 Peachtree Street, NE Atlanta, Georgia 303061. There’s sufficient parking space, and valets start at six every night.

Now inside, the restaurant has a unique Neo-Victorian decor with its white concrete bars, black leather banquettes, and large-scale artworks of local artists. There are beautiful chandeliers, and the hand-painted ceilings express contents from Sun Tzu’s The Art of War.

5Church contains enough seating arrangement for 185 guests downstairs, with additional space at the rooftop for dining upstairs.

A longtime friend and I decided to visit the restaurant for an early dinner and drinks. For drinks, my friend ordered an Emerald Hare rosé wine. It is a California wine from the famous Napa Valley. It is lightly floral and crisp with raspberry and grapefruit acidity.

I ordered one of their specialty cocktails, the Holy Water. It consisted of Four Roses bourbon, sweet tea, freshly squeezed lemon juice, blackberries, and blue agave. I have to tell you, this drink was very refreshing. It is the perfect drink for non-bourbon drinkers. Or you can call it the gateway drink.

For starters, we both decided on the grilled peach flatbread. The ingredients were a little hard to see. The flatbread is covered with fresh arugula, and below it, you can see fresh slices of peaches, caramelized onions, Brie, and a taste of the balsamic glaze. Now, this was the first time I had brie on flatbread. It had a light, sweet, and creamy taste. Our server advised us this was a remake of a popular flatbread that had thin slices of ham.

Now for the main course. We were very indecisive on what to get. Our server, Karl, recommended the wasabi-crusted ahi tuna. I loved the dish presentation. It was plated like a flower. The entrée consisted of bok choy, marinated seaweed salad, and miso emulsion.

My friend ordered a separate side of smoked gouda mac and cheese. I sampled the mac and cheese. It was good and had a hint of smokiness.

Karl recommended the grilled salmon to me. I was impressed. The salmon was fresh and flaky. The dish consisted of potato gnocchi, grilled asparagus, citrus, and beurre blanc.

I ordered a side of roasted brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts were so good. It had a bit of a buttery flavor to it.

Last, we shared dessert. We decided on vanilla Bavarian. This small and delicious treat consisted of Key lime curd, morello cherries, and shortbread crumbles. My advice is, get two. It’s too good to share.

Over all, our 5Church visit was fantastic. The location is perfect for those who want a night in town or Sunday brunch. Service was great. Karl, our server, was attentive and very knowledgeable on the menu.
