Hampton + Hudson is in the changing, growing and competitive Inman Park area of Atlanta. This restaurant is unique; it’s one of those community bar and restaurants that is very versatile. The crowd changes during the day or time of day. I was excited to hear they completely changed their menu and hired a new Executive Chef, Savanna Sasser, who was the Top chef at Twains in Decatur.

I decided to go around the evening to get away from the brunch crowd. This restaurant is come as you are no reservations under a party of six. The host seated me at this curved booth with a TV at the end of it. My server, Candy, was very attentive and handed me a jug and glass of water.

For drinks, I ordered Like a Glove. It consisted of Blackwell rum, lime, ginger shrub, fresh pineapple puree, 1821 spicy creole bitters, float decanter bitters and a slice of cucumber. The drink was light and little strong at the end.

For the appetizer I decided to go light, and picked the vegan Smoked cauliflower hush pups. It consisted of fried smoked cauliflower, lemon oil, sorghum and siracha aioli. The Siracha aioli complimented the hush pups, and the smoked flavor of the cauliflower was amazing.

For the main entrée, Candy was raving about the pasta of the day, which was the Fettuccini. It consisted of house made fresh Fettuccini noodles, Miso cream sauce, fried oysters purple bok choy and ginger syrup. I decided to try, and it was not a disappointment. Fantastic!! It’s almost like an Italian version of oyster Rockefeller, in my opinion.

Last, I saved room for dessert. I had the H+H whoopie pie – chocolate shortbread, house beer marshmallows, chocolate ganache, and smoked whipped cream. All I can say is wow. You can taste the love. It’s not too sweet, but the smoked whipped cream complements everything. And I was told it takes at least two days to make.

The verdict…
Yes, I will go back. The menu items I selected were different but good. The service was fantastic. My server, Candy, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.  What I like was that they have gluten free and vegan option for each appetizers, entrées, sandwiches and desserts. And they strive to use locally sourced produce and meats.
