Cider drink, it’s here again! Cider is a drink made from apples. In the United States, cider is a drink made from apples, which rarely contains alcohol, and if it does contain alcohol, it is usually called hard cider. Meanwhile, sweet cider in the USA is an unfermented drink made from apple juice.

Either hard or sweet flavor, cider has become a staple drink consumed during early colonial America and across the world today as result of paradigm shifts in drinks. Regardless of the occasion, cider drinks give you that desired refreshment needed for your wedding anniversary, family gathering, or birthday celebration, to mention but a few.

Oh, no! You don’t have to be worried, Urban Tree Cidery is located inside downtown Atlanta. They are located in West Atlanta off of Howell Mill. This family run and operated Cidery, Husband and wife Tim and Maria Resuta and Sister in law Jacky Waice; all these three are certified by the National Association of Cider Makers (NACM) and taught by Peter Mitchell, of the Cider and Perry Academy in Gloucestershire, England. Hence, they are qualified and certified hands in the service for cider drinks.

Aside from the production of cider drinks, at Atlanta First Cidery, they grow their own apples, in their own apple orchard in Mountain City, GA. Located in North GA and Second in GA. They also produce and distribute their ciders and currently sell inside GA. In addition, Urban Tree Cidery have won rewards for their cider which includes: Silver – International Women’s Wine Competition, Silver – North American Brewers Awards, Bronze – INDY International Wine Competition, all in 2016.

At the tasting room, they have a nice clean wood finish, communal tables and individuals seating, as well as a small outdoor patio. Unlike the Breweries in Atlanta, you can buy per glass or flights on ciders on tap. We also have a bar that only stocks GA local beer (Monday Night, Second Self, Three Taverns, and Sweet Water) and liquor from ASW, Old fourth Ward, and Gosa. Also to their local stocked bars, their mixologist, Jessica, has developed a few interesting cocktails that are currently on the drink menu.

My favorites are:
Sweet Auburn that comprises Urban Tree Classic Cider, 229 Georgia Peach Vodka, 1821 Lemon basil syrup and fresh squeezed lemons.
East Atlanta Village consists Urban Tree Orginal Cider, Moonrise Bourbon, 1821 Blackberry Peppercorn shrub, Fresh mint, simple syrup and club soda.

Urban Tree Cidery produces three different ciders for distribution

The Original Craft Cider is a Dry crisp, sweet and tart European-style cider.
The Classic-Craft Cider is somewhat a sweet cider.
The Barrel Aged Craft Cider. Cider aged in Nicaraguan rum barrels. It has a strong Robust taste with some woody vanilla and oak notes.

Overall, Urban Tree Cidery is a great place to chill relax with a group of friends to grab a pint or a flight of their Award winning Ciders.
